FLOW’s Book du Jour: Mark Aitken | Sanctum Ephemeral | Peckham 24

posted in: Exhibition | 0

Sanctum Ephemeral is a series of intimate photo portraits of residents living on Cressingham Gardens Housing Estate, Brixton. Lambeth council has proposed the building of new public and private owned housing and the estate has been earmarked for demolition. The artist and resident Mark Aitken has working on the series for two years.

The photos are an exploration of how home as a repository of memory defines identity. We define our homes. Our homes define us. Exhibition is on the estate itself, at Peckham 24.
